GLOBAL EXISTENCE OF WEAK SOLUTIONS FOR GENERALIZED QUANTUM MHD EQUATION

We prove the existence of a weak solution for a generalized quantum MHD equation in a 2-dimensional periodic box for large initial data. The existence of a global weak solution is established through a three-level approximation,energy estimates, and weak convergence for the adiabatic exponent γ 1.     

Semilinear wave models with friction and viscoelastic damping

In this paper, we study the global (in time) existence of small data solutions to the Cauchy problem for the semilinear wave equation with friction, viscoelastic damping, and a power nonlinearity. We are interested in the connection between regularity assumptions for the data and the admissible range of exponents p in the power nonlinearity.

Instability of hagen-poiseuille flow for axisymmetric mode

An investigation is described for instability problem of flow through a.pipe of circular cross section. As a disturbance motion, we consider an axisymmetric nonlinear mode. An associated amplitude or modulation equation has been derived for this perturbation. This equation belongs to the diffusion type. The coefficient of it can be negative with Reynolds number increasing, because of the complex interaction between molecular diffusion and convection. The negative diffusion, when it occurs, cause a concentration and focusing of energy within the decaying slug, acting as a role of reversing natural decays.     

Partizan octal games: Partizan subtraction games

A subtraction gameS=(s ₁, ...,s _k)is a two-player game played with a pile of tokens where each player at his turn removes a number ofm of tokens providedmεS. The player first unable to move loses, his opponent wins. This impartial game becomes partizan if, instead of one setS, two finite setsS _L andS _R are given: Left removes tokens as specified byS _L, right according toS _R. We say thatS _L dominatesS _R if for all sufficiently large piles Left wins both as first and as second player. We exhibit a curious property of dominance and provide two subclasses of games in which a dominance relation prevails. We further prove that all partizan subtraction games areperiodic, and investigatepure periodicity.     

Association schemes based on maximal isotropic subspaces in singular classical spaces

The paper provides the construction of association schemes on the sets of the maximal totally isotropic subspaces in singular classical spaces. All intersection numbers of these schemes are computed.
